John Astin, Executive Director
John Astin received his PhD in Health Psychology from the University of California, Irvine and completed postdoctoral training at the Stanford University School of Medicine. From 2000-2002, he served on the faculty at the Center for Integrative Medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. Since 2002, he has held an appointment as a research scientist at California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco, CA where he serves as the co-director of the Mind-Body Medicine Research Group. Along with his scholarly pursuits, John is a singer, songwriter and recording artist having produced 7 albums of original contemplative music and is the author of Too Intimate for Words, and This Is Always Enough, collections of poetic and prose reflections on the nature of non-dual awareness.
